Martin and Carla van Bourgonje are the second generation of the family dedicated to ensuring that guests experience the optimal hospitality that Merlet has become known for.
Martin and Carla have worked towards a restaurant/hotel with excellent cuisine and qualified staff. Since then, the business has continued to grow and evolve.
In 1999, Martin and Carla took over from Bert and Nelleke van Bourgonje, who, after several years of active support, withdrew from the operational side of the hotel and restaurant. Nelleke was very involved in the interior and design of Merlet until her passing in December 2012.
